Professional Licensed Practitioners
Professional Licensed Practitioners are prayer professionals, who after completing four (or more) years of training in The Science of Mind, are licensed by Centers for Spiritual Living. Available after the Sunday Service and by private appointment to counsel and pray with you. For more information or a referral for prayer, call the Center’s Office at 520-319-1042.
Sharon Whealy
Sharon Whealy found CSL-Santa Rosa in the fall of 2012 while she was a minister with the Church of Divine Man and co-director of its seminary, The Berkeley Psychic Institute. After years of teaching spiritual tools in meditation and clairvoyance, she found herself seeking a deeper communion with Spirit/God. The first time she walked into CSL Santa Rosa she knew she was home! She soon began taking classes, beginning with the Beyond Limits class. In 2015 Sharon moved to Bakersfield, CA to complete her BA at CSU-Bakersfield. She graduated with highest honors in 2017 earning a BA in both Sociology and Religious Studies. With her eye on the Ernest Holmes Consciousness Studies master’s program and ministry, she began the online practitioner program in 2017. She became a licensed practitioner in 2019. After a year of COVID, Spirit conspired to move Sharon to Tucson, AZ in June of 2021 to be nearer her family. She is happy to join the CSL-Tucson community and looks forward to serving the Center. She is also a member of 12-Step recovery and loves working with others to help discover the unlimited potential that is our Spirit given gift!
Robie-Jean Chandler – CSLT Practitioner
Robie-Jean’s search for God has taken her on long and winding roads. From Western dogma to Eastern philosophies, and she has loved every step of the journey. In 2004, she walked into the Center for Spiritual Living, in Encinitas, California and immediately began her required 4-year journey of becoming a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner and graduated in 2008. When Robie-Jean began her studies, she was already working with various charter schools, battered women’s shelters, and the Alpha Project San Diego. Here she spiritually assisted (combined with her years of 12 step work) those in recovery that had found themselves living as ex-cons, abused women, in co-ed recovery facilities, and more. This work included working with all ages, from troubled youths (16 and up) to lifelong addicts. Along the way, Robie-Jean discovered a love for energy work and began studying the many modalities available. She is now Certified/Licensed in the modalities of Deeksha Blessing Giver, Reiki Master, Crystal Healing, Animal Healing and more (still studying). In 2008 she moved to Tucson, Arizona and continued to be active with CSLT as a Practitioner. In 2024 she made the decision to become a licensed Practitioner with the Emerson Theological Institute and continues to expand her healing ministry with animals and humans. Robie-Jean has also published “The World of God”, a coffee table meditation book, using her own nature photography (currently being updated). She has also created and moderated many growth shops (formally called workshops) on a variety of subjects. It is my honor and privilege to serve those in need.
Ruth Starwell – CSLT Practitioner
Ruth Starwell is a native Tucsonan and long-time friend of CSL Tucson. She moved to Southern California after earning her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Arizona. During her 30-year career with Caterpillar Inc, she also earned her Master’s in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego. It was in Southern California that Ruth first discovered New Thought philosophy and after years of dedicated study and personal transformation, Ruth earned her license and has served as a Spiritual Practitioner since 2004.
Ruth Starwell’s unique blend of engineering expertise and spiritual practice allows her to approach challenges with a holistic perspective, drawing on both analytical and intuitive insights. Ruth is gratified to be back to the Santa Catalina Mountains and the Sonoran Desert and is honored to serve as Spiritual Practitioner supporting others on their paths of personal and spiritual growth.
Tamara Morrison – CSLT Practitioner
I was invited to a CSL Easter service at Bodhi Chicago,2001. I knew immediately this was my spiritual destiny! Ernest Homes’ teachings healed my heart. I became a CSL Practitioner in 2014. Through CSLT have so much fun, love and community here in Tucson. Lucky me!
Sabrina Johnson – CSLT Practitioner
Sabrina was raised in the New Thought faith tradition of Unity and has been a member of Centers for Spiritual Living since 2006. In 2009, she became a licensed Practitioner at North Hollywood Church of Religious Science.
In 2008, Sabrina was introduced to the ancient art of Vipassana meditation (aka insight or mindfulness meditation). She then studied Mindfulness Self Compassion, as developed by Christopher K. Germer, PhD and Kristin Neff, PhD. She found incorporating both of these teachings into a daily practice to be life changing. Because of this, Sabrina has a desire to share with others what has evolved into a daily practice of “compassionate meditation.” Besides teaching compassionate meditation classes, she has also written a book, How to Sit & Stay with Compassionate Meditation.
Desiring to further her spiritual exploration and education, Sabrina enrolled in Claremont School of Theology’s Master of Divinity Program. When she graduated in 2022, she was not sure what path she wanted to pursue as her ministry, and so she started a podcast called “Listen Up Listen In” in which she interviews guests who share how they minister to the world and what inspires them to do so.
Sabrina loves being a Practitioner: making spiritual care visits, praying with congregants, counseling clients, giving Sunday talks, providing pulpit support, creating and facilitating classes and workshops to further develop and nurture our spiritual growth together in community.
Hazel Bowman – CSLT Practitioner
Hazel Bowman, a CSL Practitioner since 2012, was raised in two religions – her father was a devout Quaker, and her mother was equally devoted as a Christian Scientist. She blesses her upbringing in knowing both. As a Quaker, she learned to love God as her friend, and as a Christian Scientist she learned that she stands at the portal of her thoughts. In her spiritual journey, Hazel has attended numerous and varied churches, temples and synagogues, embarking on a path expanding her union with the Divine. Knowing that it comes to us as we believe, she reaffirms through her writings, teachings and messages, that God desires for us to have an abundant life with joy and happiness, and that we should claim it.
